The basics.
-
Permanent jewellery is a beautiful, custom-fitted, clasp-less piece of fine jewellery (bracelet, anklet, ring, or necklace) that is micro-welded together, on you. The result is a seamless piece designed to be worn for years, often symbolising a special bond, commitment, or memory.
-
We call it permanent because it has no clasp and is designed for continuous, everyday wear. While it is meant to last, it is not truly "forever" and can be easily and safely removed if you ever need to take it off.
-
We prioritise quality and longevity. We offer beautiful, high-quality chains in 9-14ct filled-gold and 925 sterling silver. We also offer a selection of charming connectors and charms to fully personalise your piece.
Our collection is always growing. For clients interested in solid gold, we can expertly source and weld a piece tailored to you. Please contact Amari to discuss your custom request before booking your appointment.
-
For a piece intended to be worn continuously, durability is paramount. Gold-filled jewellery is a superior material where a thick layer of gold is mechanically bonded to a base metal, making up at least 5% of the item's total weight. This is significantly more durable than Gold-plated, which only has a microscopically thin coating that quickly wears and tarnishes. We choose gold-filled to ensure your piece maintains its beauty and lustre for a much longer time.
-
Yes, absolutely. While permanent jewellery is typically welded closed for a seamless look, we can easily add a high-quality, secure clasp at your request during your appointment.
If you ever need to remove the jewellery (for example, for a medical procedure), it can be easily snipped off at the weld point with nail clippers. Please save your chain! We offer a re-welding service to put your original piece back on when you are ready.
The welding process and safety.
-
Absolutely not. The process is quick, painless, and completely safe. We use a precise micro-welding machine, and a protective barrier is placed between the chain and your skin, ensuring you won't feel a thing. Crucially, we utilise Argon Gas during the welding process. The Argon gas controls the flow of oxygen, which makes the procedure much safer, ensures the strongest possible weld, and significantly reduces the black marks (oxidation), guaranteeing a cleaner, more seamless, and higher-quality final piece.
-
While our chains are chosen for their high quality, we intentionally select metals and chain weights that will break under extreme pressure for safety reasons. In the rare event of a strong snag or breakage, we want the jewellery to break rather than cause injury. If this happens, please save your chain! We offer a quick and easy re-welding service to repair or reattach it for a small fee.
-
Yes. We welcome clients aged 18 and older to receive permanent jewellery with no restriction. We can also provide the service to minors aged 14 to 17, provided the minor is accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who must be present to give explicit, in-person consent for the procedure.
-
Yes, you can. All our fine metals are designed for continuous wear. For longevity, we do recommend gently rinsing your jewellery with fresh water after swimming in chlorine or saltwater to keep it sparkling and clean.
-
It can be easily removed. If you need to remove your piece for a medical procedure (such as an MRI or X-Ray), simply snip the chain at the jump ring (the welded link) using sharp scissors or nail clippers. Be sure to save the chain, and we can re-weld it for you at a small cost once your procedure is complete.
-
No. Fine jewellery metals, especially gold-filled and sterling silver, are generally not thick enough or magnetic enough to set off standard airport metal detectors. You can travel confidently with your Amari piece.
Aftercare and maintenance.
-
Maintaining the sparkle is easy. Simply use mild dish soap, warm water, and a soft toothbrush to gently scrub away any accumulated dirt, lotions, or oils. Rinse thoroughly and pat dry with a soft cloth.
-
The way your permanent jewellery ages depends entirely on the metal you select. Gold-filled is highly tarnish-resistant; because it features a thick, mechanically bonded layer of gold, this protective barrier prevents the base metal from reacting, meaning your Gold-filled piece can maintain its beautiful lustre for years with simple care.
Conversely, 925 Sterling Silver will naturally tarnish (oxidise) over time when it reacts with moisture and air, which can cause a dark, dull film to appear. The excellent news is that tarnishing does not damage the silver and can be instantly and easily removed by gently polishing the piece with a soft cloth to restore its original brilliant shine. -
We stand behind the quality of our application with a 28-day warranty covering the integrity of the weld point (jump ring). If your jewellery breaks at the weld within 28 days, please save your chain and contact us to book a free repair appointment. Beyond this warranty period, we offer a re-weld service for a small fee.
Please note: If a chain is lost, we cannot offer a replacement or discount, as the material cost has already been incurred. Our repair services only apply if the broken chain is saved and brought back to us.
